When I entered the hall of the flat, I knew. This is where I wanted to live. I immediately got a very pleasant feeling, this place exuded unseen charm. The light-rich living space at the front, the peaceful, quiet bedrooms at the back.... Just blissful. The whole building is established architectural heritage and you can feel that through all the authentic elements present. I bought it as a flat 'growing up': first as a bachelor, later together with my boyfriend and our two kids. Even now I remain attached to this neighbourhood; the neighbours have really become friends. This is a lovely park neighbourhood. With our feet in Pol Bury's fountain on the lawn of the Provinciehuis, drinking coffee in the Harmoniepark, going to the playground at the Hof Van Leysen, kubbing in the Albert Park and jogging through the Hertoghedomein to the larger parks Den Brandt and Middelheim,... There is a matching park here for every mood.
For the last five years, we've been renting this place out. Now we are passing this beautiful piece of Antwerp on to someone who wants to get their hands dirty.
