Description

In a residential neighbourhood in an absolutely prime location by the city park, corner Rubenslei-Marie-Henriëttalei. Jogging in the park, shopping on Leopoldstraat, strolling on the market, buying antiques at Sint-Jorispoort and having a drink on Leopoldplein.

The handsome, modernist apartment building 'Helvetica', by arch. David Moëd, is a true architectural gem from 1936. Fortunately, many original elements have been beautifully preserved here, such as the entrance hall with wood and sleek black metalwork in Art Deco style. The lifts are also authentic: 1 'normal' and 1 former service lift.

The wide entrance hall of this corner flat opens onto the beautiful living space on herringbone parquet. In this sun-drenched area with 3 connected, open-plan rooms, you are immediately blown away by the high ceiling heights, large windows (lots of light!) and fantastic views. Also in the 3 stylish bedrooms you will find beautiful authentic parquet and the original built-in cupboards.

In the kitchen: quality appliances, seating and storage space in abundance. The extra utility room - with access to the extra (service) lift, handy for e.g. the rubbish bin - is also very practical. And the morning rush? You can relax in one of the 2 bathrooms, 1 with shower and 1 with bath, adjacent to the master bedroom.

Even more plus points: the basement storage room and rental parking spaces in the underground National Bank car park nearby.

A real city flat with lots of character, charm, light and space in the heart of the city!

Coming home here invariably gives you a sense of grandeur.
Olivier & Oichai, the owners,

owner speaks out

Coming home here invariably gives you a sense of grandeur. This residence had standing from the start - and it still feels like that to us. When we step into the lift here, after all these years it still feels a bit like we're starring in one of those stylish, French film noir. In the flat itself, you feel the same. For a start, you have the fantastic views over the city, while still living in the middle of your own oasis. Then there's the super-central location. If you fancy a dose of city life pure and simple, it's within easy reach in all directions.

Our ideal weekend? Shopping at the bird market on Saturday, then having lunch or a coffee, cooking at home and then catching a theatre performance or meeting up with friends - all within walking distance. Then, on Sunday, enjoy a long brunch in the neighbourhood and then a refreshing walk through the city park. Top weekend!

This really is a flat for blissful cocooning. With your bare feet on the warm parquet, taking a long bath or relaxing in the spacious living room... We keep very fond memories of it.
