Description

Right in the middle of the Expo district, close to schools, approach roads... to Antwerp city centre by bike? Or walk to the parks den Brandt, Nachtegalenpark or Kielpark? It's all possible.

Open fine streetscape with generous trees and listed buildings, including the Christus Koningkerk.

Behind a sleek facade lurks this beautifully preserved Art Deco pearl from 1936. Beautiful entrance with marble and sash door in glass providing access to the spacious hall. To the right, office space (or play or TV room). To the left guest toilet and access to garage. The magnificent hall with original Winckelman tiles, panelling and wooden staircase - incredible how well the Art Deco details were preserved here.

In the kitchen, the amazing vintage cubex cabinets play the starring role which, like the original red table, remain in the house. Practical utility room with floor tiles in pastel. Adjoining is the dining room with a large sliding window to the covered terrace, great in summer and winter. The cosy garden with sandpit borders the gardens of J. Van Rijswijcklaan, mainly offices - so plenty of peace and quiet and no privacy.

At the front on the 1st floor: the bright, spacious living room and at the back 2 spacious bedrooms. On the spacious landing is the bathroom with shower and bathtub. The 2nd floor also comprises 2 full-size bedrooms at the front and 1 children's bedroom or storage room, with connections for a second bathroom. The stylish parquet flooring in this house is original throughout! Also useful: the spacious basement has plumbing for a washing machine.

This house has only had its second owners. They have always maintained it with great respect for its authenticity, and you notice that.

Ideal family home in a nice, residential neighbourhood. A house with a soul, where every detail is right.

The house literally grew with our family.

owner speaks out

Thirty years I lived and lived here with my family. Thirty years full of memories and unforgettable moments. The children went to school just across the street, super convenient, and throughout the year they played outside with their friends from the neighbourhood. Even my 2-year-old grandson played here to his heart's content and won't soon forget the house. The house literally grew with our family. Once the children left home, bedrooms became libraries and guest rooms; play corners became desks and extra reading corners - lots of space means lots of possibilities. The garden, too, has always been a great place to play and an oasis of peace. A dream place for a family.
