Description

Large, attractive family home with sunny garden in a prime location.

Deurne South, near Rivierenhof, Boekenberg- and Te Boelaerpark, with nice cafes, Bar brul, Café Josée, but also public transport, schools, (6!) supermarkets, bakery, butcher, sports clubs, scouts, swimming pool,...

One of five adjacent family homes in Beaux-arts style, built around 1930 by the 'Naamloze Maatschappij Deurne en Borgerhout Uitbreiding'. House number 72 was commissioned by diamond worker Abraham Cardoro-Hermans.

The owners added some smart elements to the original base of the house, such as the annex with the kitchen and bathroom, which gives you even more light and a very spacious feeling.

Upon entering, the floor tiles – still stylish after almost a hundred years – immediately catch the eye. The authentic plank floors and charming bay windows at the front have also been preserved. On the ground floor 3 consecutive rooms - play corner, TV room, dining room, library, office... - and sunny kitchen with plenty of cupboard and work space and a cozy breakfast corner. From here you can go to the terrace and south-facing garden to relax, play, sunbathe or have a BBQ.

Floors 1 and 2 offer a total of 4 attractive bedrooms, a handy laundry room and 1 spacious bathroom, with double sinks and an ingeniously installed bath-shower combination. Mglh to 2nd bathroom.

You never have to look for a parking space, because you have a parking space in front of the door.

Whoever gives this house some TLC - painting and sanding floors - has a real pearl in his hands.

owner speaks out

This house served optimally as an ideal family home for 32 years. It is always nice to come home here: a quiet cup of coffee in the kitchen or at the end of the day, all of us gather around the dining table to catch up and enjoy a long meal. So cosy! The sun-drenched sitting area in the kitchen is without a doubt the place to be in the house. In the summer there is of course also the sunny garden, a wonderful place to relax. Jogging a few laps in the Te Boelaerpark or a 20-minute bike ride to the center was the perfect escape. Also handy: we never had to play taxi, because our children could go everywhere by bike.
