Description

- IN OPTION - Quiet, almost hidden location in a dead-end street where you only come when you need to be there. At the same time, Mortsel is strategically located with access to fast connecting roads.

Paul Meekels, acclaimed post-war architect, did his internship with Leon Stynen, found inspiration from Jul De Roover and Le Corbusier and designed, among others, the Pius X church in Wilrijk.

Let yourself be teleported to the sixties in this fantastic modernist house in a sea of green. The abundance of natural light shows that the architect put a lot of thought into light and space. The eye-catcher in the living space? The playfully angled window up to the high ceiling. Almost in the entire house, all windows were extended to the floor.

Furthermore, on the glvl you will also find the spacious, vintage kkn. Here it seems as if time has stood still: particularly charming. The original pass-through closets are super handy. Furthermore, the master bedroom with bdk and extra room for dressing and access to the large garden. Enjoying a BBQ here with friends or family ... Bliss.
The magnificent spiral staircase is also a fantastic feature of this house. Upstairs 3 more bedrooms and a bdk. Orange and brown are the original colour recommendations of arch. Meekels. Totally fashionable then - now in full revival.

Tip: take your architect or contractor with you when you visit. There is work to be done, but after renovation you will have an absolute architectural icon in your hands.

The owners,

owner speaks out

We lived here as a family with four children. To say that our house was bustling with life is an understatement. This was our warm, cosy home and you can still feel that homely atmosphere today. There were always people coming over, friends could join us at the table, there was always room for one more ... Our motto was: the more souls, the more joy. Blessed! The house is full of memories. Our father walking down the hall with his harmonica during St Nicholas. Being put to bed, but afterwards quietly opening the door and, lying on our stomachs on the mezzanine, secretly watching TV. It was a warm nest. Now we are making way for a new family who can bring a breath of fresh air to the house. We are happy to pass on this treasure trove of memories to someone who appreciates its architecture and beautiful elements as much as we always have.
