Description

This 1902 neo-classical multi-family house was designed by arch. A. Cols & Defever for widow De Laet. The round arched windows give the classical façade a surprising twist. Since day one, this building has belonged to the same family. Unique.

Through the double wooden front door you step through the bright hallway with authentic tiles into the living space. The 1st and 2nd floors have been renovated with respect for the original: warm wooden floors, attractive colour palette, magnificent marble fireplaces, high ceilings, beautiful glasswork... At the same time, you enjoy all modern comforts. A wonderful place to rest after a lively day in the city.

In the large kitchen with a solid gas cooker, SMEG appliances, zelliges splashback and granite worktop, you enjoy maximum light thanks to the enormous window at the rear façade. The space, with adjacent fine city garden, lends itself perfectly to elaborate brunches or dinners. On the mezzanine floor: the large bathroom with wellness features -bathtub, large walk-in shower and washbasin- and access to the master bedroom.

The 2nd and 3rd floors and the roof are to be renovated and can still be completely customised. Expansion of living space? Second residential unit? Offices? The renovation is a great opportunity to make your mark on this stylish property. Currently, these floors were rented out.

Additional benefit: parking space can be rented 15 metres away.

owner speaks out

We really liked living here. I am an interior designer by training and I was very honoured to renovate the glvl and the 1st floor. I did so with as much respect as possible for the authentic character of the property.

Since 1902, the property has been owned by our family. Now that our children are out of the house, we are going to live smaller, but we will stay in this fantastic neighbourhood.

The quartier is alive - cosy restaurants, art galleries, wine bars, and soon back the renewed Museum of Fine Arts. This is where culture meets beautiful life.

We are passing on the residence to someone who can, hopefully with a lot of love, make it their own place.
