Description

Stylish neighbourhood behind Albert Park, close to the renovated De Koninck brewery site and Green Quarter. Cosy and sunny Place de Merode behind the corner, as well as supermarkets, public transport and arterial roads.

Characteristic art-deco building, Le Confort III, is officially listed as architectural heritage. In 1930, arch. Portielje and De Braey commissioned it from contractor Entreprises Générales de Construction Van Riel & Van den Bergh, which built many 'apartment buildings of high standing' at the time.

The original, sleek façade in red brick immediately catches the eye. Fun fact: the building, with its beautiful, authentic entrance hall, was even once the setting for the Belgian-British film 'Left Luggage' starring Isabella Rosselini. The cinematic feel is indeed omnipresent here.

On the 2nd floor is the flat. On the left, the wide corridor gives access to the bright, large living space. Lots of space, lots of light, marble window sills.... Homely charm trumps. Thanks to the view of the nearby monastery, it is not overlooked but sunny all day.

To the right of the corridor awaits the luxurious kitchen with magnificent Lacanche gas cooker, lots of storage space, a nice sitting area for aperitifs or breakfast and access to the elegant covered terrace.

At the end of the hallway, you will find the spacious guest toilet. In addition, the corridor leads you further to the sleeping area, with 2 spacious bedrooms plus a fully fitted dressing room (or 3rd, smaller bedroom.) Next to the master bedroom is the bathroom with bathtub-shower combination.

Well-maintained art-deco flat, bursting with charm and authentic elements, with 2-3 bdrms. An absolute gem!

owner speaks out

Our mum came to live here in 2006, after living in a house outside the city. She fell for this flat like a log because it feels so homely and spacious - and you still get that feeling immediately when you step inside. (Almost) all the furniture from her previous home even fit in here. The fantastically well-preserved Art Deco details bring a very special, characterful atmosphere to the house. Also surprising how quiet it is in here, while still living in the middle of a fairly lively neighbourhood. Moreover, mother not only ensured a quality renovation, she also always maintained the apartment well and you can still notice that today.
