Description

On the border of Antwerp and Borgerhout, close to everything you need: shops, Central Station, tram, bus, cafés and the best ice creams at Kruger- and Moorkensplein. Here you do everything on foot - the holiday feeling comes with it. Soon, Turnhoutsebaan, extension of Carnotstraat, will be transformed into a bicycle street.

This Art Deco building designed by architect Victor Gorlé, once business partner of Léon Stynen, is the real deal. Authentic lift in wrought iron, original cast-iron heating elements, lots of light, insanely beautiful herringbone parquet... It could easily be a movie set.

This 4th-floor flat has lots of space (floor space 129 m2), plenty of Art Deco details and soft materials. Exceptionally wide living space with charming bay window to enjoy the afternoon sun with a good book. Charming kitchen on original floor in checkerboard pattern. Now still basic equipped, but certainly usable, although an upgrade would be welcome. From here you can access the little terrace (approx. 7m2 and NO), which continues to the 1st bedroom.

The long corridor on authentic plank floor crosses the entire flat. Here you pass a guest toilet, laundry room and extra storage cupboards, with even an authentic connecting door separating sleeping quarters and bathroom from the living areas. Cosy bathroom with bath and washbasin on the same original checkerboard floor. Also in both bedrooms is the authentic plank floor.

Extra handy: shared bicycle shed on the ground floor and private cellar. You can rent a car around the corner.

Utter cosiness in this spacious flat with many charming corners - for the real art deco lover(s)!

Lovely how spacious this flat feels thanks to the high ceilings and generous light. Visitors are always positively surprised when they first enter here. I tried to keep as much of the original 1931 design as possible: porcelain handles, wooden windows, doors, herringbone parquet, tiles and floors.... At the same time, it's blissful that the rooms are arranged so practically. Whether I need to go to yoga, the supermarket or Antwerp Central station, I am so happy that I can get everywhere on foot or by bike in a few minutes, which gives a certain peace of mind. And when I stay at home, I consider myself lucky to have super nice neighbours in the apartment building.
