It feels quite strange to sell our parents' house. We have had so many wonderful moments here. The house is bursting at the seams with good memories. What I've always loved about our childhood home? That it is so dynamic. Everywhere you can find a hidden nook or cranny - so it never gets boring to live here. Great places to hide as a child too! And then the garden, we spent hours and hours romping around in it. Building camps, playing ball, family parties... As soon as the weather allowed, you could find us outside. Our parents also had two plots and the horses were in the garden.
At the front of the house is an indentation of glass, on which you have a good view from inside. That indentation was originally intended for an enclosed Japanese garden. That kind of garden was very 'in' when the house was built in the seventies. Eventually, our father planted a Christmas tree there. That way, it no longer had to be inside and you still felt like you had one in the house. That's really typical of what it means to live in this house: it lends itself to so many options and original solutions that it never ceases to surprise.
