Description

In the Exhibition Quarter, close to the city and 3 parks Den Brandt, Middelheim and Nachtegalenpark. Very good access to arterial roads. Sports fields across the street, Antwerp Expo and deSingel a bit further.

Majestic town house built by arch. Hendrik Delvaux in 1927 in Art Deco style. He designed the house for the diamond merchant Wolf Jahr.

On the ground floor, you immediately give your clients or patients a stately welcome in the practice area with 3 large rooms, waiting room, garage and access to basement and garden (116m2). The garden has the ideal format for summer parties, romping children, or an afternoon lazing in the sun.

The imposing staircase leads you to the 1st floor. Both the spacious kitchen and the stylish living space open onto a cosy terrace with stairs to the garden. High ceilings, authentic built-in cupboards, beautiful herringbone parquet, marble fireplaces and elegant carvings... All you need to do is put on that charleston dress and you'll feel like you're in Downton Abbey.

On the 2nd floor are 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath-shower combination and toilet, an original built-in linen cupboard. On the mezzanine another 3rd charming 'upstairs room' with steps. As in all other rooms of the house, you also have those lovely high ceilings here. A nice surprise, so below the ridge.

The house has always been maintained tiptop. An update to contemporary comfort and look&feel might be desirable. Would you like to combine living and working? Living on the ground floor and adding an extra bedroom floor? Kangaroo living? Anything is possible here.

owner speaks out

My husband had his doctor's practice on the ground floor for many years. We lived upstairs there with our family. An unforgettable period! More than enough space for our playing children, and for ourselves. Yet the charming house was not the only reason we loved living here. The beautiful street with so many lovely neighbours also made our hearts melt. Now we are closing a very nice fragment of our lives here and the house is ready for a new family that can give it its own meaning.
