Description

At walking distance from the centre of Kapellen, primary school in the street and tennis club and shops nearby, and very quiet in the green.

When the current owners built this happy family home in 2008, the lady of the house was inspired by her favourite architectural period, the interbellum, which is referred to, among other things, in the dark-coloured façade stone.

Everywhere you feel the connection with the greenery, a calming factor. Architecturally, the house consists of two equal parts, connected by a long corridor with functional built-in cupboards. Two glass entrance doors, respectively for winter and summer use.

On the left the tiptop installed kitchen with nice island, living space and on the right the cosy lounge. High-quality materials, such as a modern Bolidt cast floor. Large windows open onto the interior patio, an oasis of calm by the sleek pond. Sublime terrace (SE) with wisteria: the place for summer aperitifs or dinners. Also blissful: reading a book by the pond in the beautiful, giga park garden.

Steel designer staircase to +1, with lots of light thanks to large windows and high ceilings. Practical desk or TV room. To the right, the children's zone with 2 identical bedrooms, fitted wardrobes, desk and bathroom with walk-in shower. To the left, the parental paradise: master bedroom with en suite dressing room and bathroom with bathtub and rain shower. Close the sliding door and enjoy some me-time ... Lovely. And thanks to the handy laundry room, you always keep your laundry nice and out of sight.

owner speaks out

'How we have loved living here! Rather by chance, 15 years ago we stumbled upon this beautiful piece of tucked-away greenery. Behind withered conifers and a yellowed 'for sale' sign, we discovered this 1,500m² green oasis. Together with Dirk Van Gastel, architect friend, we sat down at the drawing table with our wish list. At the top of that list were three big wishes: light, space and maximum contact with nature. I myself am a big fan of interwar architecture, so a lot of attention was paid to traditional brickwork and pointing.

Very quickly, this house became a warm home for all our family. When our children were little, they often played hide-and-seek with friends here and camping in the garden was also a regular activity. When they got older, our garden was a regular meeting place for drinks.

We divided the house in such a way that you have space to do things together while everyone can still have some privacy. The covered patio is a great place to read a book in the afternoon sun. Now that our children are going their separate ways, it is time for us to take a new path. We look back on our time in this house with many warm feelings and we hope the next owners will be as happy here as we were here!'
